There are different ways to refer to specific areas of the face, but the one that is most talked about is the ‘butterfly zone’. Are you also looking into improving the appearance of this specific area? At LAMINE Skin Clinic, you can definitely improve specific facial areas according to your concerns!

What is the ‘Butterfly Zone’?
It may sound a little odd to refer to a facial area as the ‘butterfly zone’. However, the name is derived from the way the areas of the cheeks including the nose forms a butterfly-like pattern on the skin.
What are some common skin concerns on this zone?
One of the most common skin concern is the appearance of rosacea. Typically, some people may have lasting redness along the cheeks. Another type of skin concern that is commonly accompanied with rosacea is enlarged pores, blackheads, or acne. As our pores are centered around the cheeks to the nose, those who have high sebum-producing glands may typically experience skin concern in this area.
What makes it so difficult to treat?
Although proper skincare that truly understands your skin type and sensitivity can improve the condition, it doesn’t provide the absolute solution to the problem. Skin concern such as enlarged pores cannot be tightened with just skincare, rather, it requires device treatment that can target the deeper sebum glands. In addition, controlling the sensitivity of the face through skin treatments is also a faster way to achieve healthier, glowing skin!
Potenza for the Butterfly Zone
If you had been following LAMINE Skin Clinic for a while, you might already be familiar with the Potenza treatment. LAMINE Skin Clinic specializes in this specific treatment as it is a all-rounder to most of skin concerns!

Using ultra fine tips that are injected directly into the pores, Potenza helps to coagulate and tighten the skin. In this process, Potenza also stimulates the regeneration of collagen, thereby helping to make the skin healthy and youthful!
This is especially beneficial for the butterfly zone in many ways. For those who are concerned about the severity of their pores, rather it be too enlarged or too widespread even across the nose, Potenza is targeted on all parts of the face evenly. Therefore, unlike some treatments that show benefits in specific areas of the face, this treatment truly improves the appearance of the entirety of the face!
What about for rosacea?
In terms of rosacea or redness caused by acne, Potenza being an all-rounder is also the solution! As Potenza targets the skin layer in a deeper manner, this treatment helps to reduce inflammation and improve blood circulation. Therefore, patients with rosacea or redness can also seek benefits from this said treatment!
TIP: If you are looking to improve skin concerns caused by acne (such as redness, acne scars, etc.) combining Potenza with some of our signature skin boosters is also an option!

How Does the Process Work?
As Potenza uses radiofrequency energy to get deep into the pores, it is still considered a mildly invasive treatment. Therefore, we do require the use of numbing cream prior to conducting the treatment.
Potenza is conducted with a treatment machine, but using a hand-held device that can adjust the depth of the tips. Upon the procedure, Dr. Kim will carefully analyze the areas of the face and adjust the depth of the tip as she proceeds.

Changing the settings of the device tip is especially important as our skin layer is not even throughout the face. Rather, some areas are more dense than others, so it may require a deeper injection or a lighter injection. By interchanging the depth of the tip based on the facial area, you will be sure to get an even pressure all throughout the face.
Due to her years of experience in the medical field and Potenza treatment, you will sure to be good hands upon receiving the treatment! 🫶🏻
