What Causes Bumpy Skin?

Those who have oily skin secrete a lot more sebum and oil than the other skin types. During this process, the sebaceous gland becomes inflamed and the buildup becomes stuck inside the pores. As a result, the buildup hardens within the pores and creates little white bumps to appear on the surface of the skin.

Are whiteheads pop-able?

In a similar manner to acne, yes they are actually pop-able. However, similarly to acne, it’s best recommended not to pop these acne. By popping whiteheads, you are potentially spreading around the dirt and the hardened sebum, which could cause inflammation in the surrounding areas leading to acne or facial redness.

So what can we do to prevent these whiteheads?

While whiteheads, like blackheads, can be taken of easily through at-home skincare routine, the best way to calm down the inflamed skin is through a clinic treatment.
