If you’re a male who is just getting into skincare, or has just found the urge to start taking care of the skin, there are so many things to learn and know. In this post, we broke down the skincare routine and treatments that are easy for even men to pick up!

For the Men
If you have just started grooming or learned about grooming, chances are, you are still confused about where to start and what to get. There are too many categories of products and areas to focus that you may be overwhelmed by everything. So just follow these simple steps and take into consideration some of our skin treatments as well!
Instead of layering on a lot of products, it is best to start with simple skincare steps. All in all, the most important aspect about skincare is consistency. It’s best to start with a simple routine that you will be able to keep up with.
Step 1: Use a gentle cleanser

Cleanser may seem like it shouldn’t be a part of a skincare routine, but it is one of the important steps. Make sure to get your hands on a gentle cleanser that isn’t too acidic and fits your skin condition. For those with acne prone skin, make sure to double the ingredients prior to purchasing. For those with dry skin, make sure the cleanser isn’t too heavy on exfoliating otherwise it will cause dry patches.
Using a cleanser before shaving is also helpful to reduce any surface oil. As long as you don’t have sensitive skin, alternate between using a slightly exfoliating cleanser and a gentle cleanser.
Step 2: Moisturizer

By just moisturizing the skin well, you will be able to see a difference between not grooming and grooming. Find a moisturizing cream that isn’t too heavy or oily, and can be used daily in both the morning and night. If you do have oily skin, opting for a watery type such as lotions may be a better option.
Moisturizing after shaving is also very important to reduce any possibilities of ingrown hair or dry patches as well. If you are quite new to skincare or do not want to add even more layers, look for an all-in-one lotion option that also includes SPF.
Step 3: Sunscreen
One of the most common types of skin conditions we get asked by men is how to remove dark spots and melasma. While this may be due to genetics and skin type reasons, one of the easiest preventative methods is just by using sunscreen. Applying sunscreen can be bothersome and we might forget to do so some days. However, the gap between applying and not applying sunscreen is extremely big. Taking the time for sunscreen is actually beneficial for the future skin.
If you have sensitive skin, certain ingredients in sunscreen may cause watery eyes or activate allergies. Make sure to double check the ingredients or look for any sunscreen that is known to be gentle on the skin. While the SPF depends on the area that you live in, usually we recommend any SPF that is over 30. Depending on your location, it is recommended to use one that is higher in SPF.
Skin Treatment Tips
For the Dark Spots
If you have just gotten into skincare due to the already formed dark spots, focusing on skincare may be a late option. While focusing on skincare may reduce the chances of future dark spots, it does not help remove the already formed ones.
Instead, look into our One Day Brightening Program that consists of a variety of treatments focused on whitening dark spots and brightening the overall skin. Included in this program are whitening treatments and vitamin C treatments for brightening that will definitely help suppress the darker melanin. The treatment finishes with a high capacity glutathione IV drip which blocks the melanin production from the within.

While the One Day Program definitely helps brighten the appearance if done once, dark spots are a type of skin condition that require multiple sessions for maximum results. Therefore, while we do recommend receiving one treatment to test out the treatments, it is highly recommended to repeat the treatment multiple times.
