To simply put, collagen creates the face’s natural volume and helps maintain a balance of the skin’s inner structure. Collagen starts to deplete as we age through a natural process, but along the way this causes the skin to sag, wrinkles to form heavier depressions, and pores to enlarge. Studies show that around one percent of collagen is reduced each year from our mid-20s onwards. In order to prevent (or at least help to prevent) a heavy depletion of collagen, there are many widely available measures with new treatments becoming the hot topic every so often.

How many sessions should I be doing before seeing collagen results?

Collagen reproduction cannot be replenished fully with just one session. It is an effort of multiple sessions with multiple activation to stimulate the reproduction for a truly noticeable effect. Therefore, while we do recommend receiving 2-3 microneedling treatments monthly, it is hard to visit the clinic, let alone South Korea for routinely sessions. Therefore, if you are unable to come in for regular sessions, doing so at least once or twice per year is still recommended!
